Continuing with my Guest Desktop series I am happy to share these two beautiful images from Costa Nova, Portugal by photographer Ricardo Resende (or on instagram here). I like the understated colors that give these landscapes a chilly but somehow inviting feeling. Perfect for a contemplative wallpaper. Heres what Ricardo had to say about the above image:
“I took this photo a few months ago on a winter morning. My girlfriend and I were exploring the beaches of Costa Nova (Portugal). It was a dew morning and while walking beside the sand dunes we could only hear the sound of the sea waves. Soon we decided to climb them up and at the top we were delighted with the wonderful view we had over the beach. A deserted and peaceful beach where there was no one and the only sound you could hear was that of the waves splashing on the shore, that rough sea. It was a unique moment recorded forever in this picture.”
He then took moment to speak of the sea to describe the second photo below which I thought was a worthy reflection of its grander.
“The sea. The sea is one of my biggest fears. I’ve been afraid of it since I was a kid. At the same time it’s one of the things I appreciate the most. Every wave, every texture, every color, they’re different. It fascinates me to see how something so simple can also be so complex and beautiful at the same time.”
