It has been all to long since I have had a chance to post something new round here so to remedy that I present this desktop for your consideration. The image is from my trip to India late last year, I took the shot in Jaipur at the entrance to a place loosely known as the monkey temple. The sun was setting and dozens of monkeys were running about with the city sprawling out behind them with the beautiful colors of sunset in the haze of the city. Monkeys have this wonderful ability to be full of character and life and its all to easy to take semi emotional photos of them. For those interested, it was shot with my Voigtlander R3M.

The large desktop version is only as good as my scanner will allow so its not super sharp but the charm of these subtle colors and soft focus may be just fine but ill leave that for you to decide, to download the desktop (wallpaper?) simply CLICK OR RIGHT CLICK HERE to download the zip containing the image and the terms of use. Also, if you link to this photo or post it on your blog please please link back here if you would and if you want to share desktops with friends simply link back here rather than to the zip. Thanks so much for your support, I will be getting the lens that will replace my 50mm and be back to shooting with my 5d again soon I hope.

Surely there is someone out there who would like to be the proud owner of this fine 50mm f/1.2L lens for Canon EOS mount cameras. Its a fantastic lens offering a beautiful DOF control and low light capability. Those who know my desktops and other digital imagery from the last year and a half or so have seen it in action and what it can do. Own a little piece of my photo taking history heh.

I have decided to part ways with it for something wider, a 35mm lens. Because it is my only lens I simply need something a bit wider for some of what I need it for and so here it is, yours for the taking. It is a used lens but the only sign of use is there along the edge of the front of the lens a couple little scratches that are only seen if you look closely and in no way effects the lens’s performance. I really love this lens and hate to part with it but I cant afford to buy another new lens without selling this one first.

I am asking $1200 USD and shipping in the US is free and probably around $15 or so for international shipping though it would be easiest to sell it within the US. It comes with everything it originally shipped with as seen below and payments will be accepted through Paypal.

If you are interested simply send along an email using the link in the links section to the right or the link at the bottom of the page. Thanks!

I know this is not particularly anything new in the photography world but as I was driving back through the mountains after some work I had this fog had settled in a valley around a big waterfall and I simply had to take advantage of these beautiful trees and get a couple of nice desktop images out of it. I thought this touch of yellow and blue added something nice to the feeling these have. I also shot a few film photos while I was there and they are being developed today so hopefully some more photos to share soon!

To download the full desktop image simply CLICK OR RIGHT CLICK HERE to download the zip containing both the images and the terms of use, no commercial use please!

ALSO! I LOVE all of you who have been helping out and posting links here to the site, your help is what keeps me going and helps spread the word of 50ft and what I am doing here but could I ask one little favor of you all who are sharing images? I certainly don’t mind the occasional use of an image as a tumblr or blog background and I certainly dont mind when you repost images around in your blogs but if you link back to a specific desktop could you do me a favor and link back to the permalink page where you can download the desktop rather than linking directly to the .zip file?

I am not going to go around policing the web or anything but your understanding would be pretty helpful I love my readers and I love that you guys help me out and the reason I use zips are to help push people in the sites direction so if you could help me out by doing that in the future I would be very much grateful, thank you(!) and I hope you continue to enjoy what I do around here.

Who knew dust could be so interesting to take photos of? Actually, its something I have wanted to try and capture for a while, the essence of those tiny specks of dust floating about in a ray of light and had just such an opportunity yesterday while staying with my brother in Memphis. I took some obvious liberties with the color which is something I don’t do too often but I tried to do it tastefully. Im pretty happy with the way they came out, hope you enjoy them as a desktop as much as I had fun trying to shoot thousands of dust particles floating through the air.

To download these images simply CLICK OR RIGHT CLICK HERE to download the attached zip file. Inside you will find all of the images above in a nice wallpaper size that should work for most anyone as well as the terms of use which in essence state that these are for your personal use only and can not be used in any sort of commercial sense outside that of your personal desktop wallpaper. Thanks for visiting and ENJOY!

I took this photo at a coffee shop the other day simply because I loved the odd mug I was handed. Used the shiny black table and lights of the shop to create what I immediately figured would become a fun desktop to post. The lens used is not my typical 50mm, rather its an old 35mm that I sold to my brother a couple of years ago and miss so much after using it this week that I think I will be selling here on the site and wherever else I can post it for sale so keep an eye out if your interested. Its not a cheap lens but as you have seen around here it can take some great photos heh. Right, as for the desktop..

To download the full size version of the cups here simply CLICK OR RIGHT CLICK HERE to download the attached zip file which also contains the terms of use so you know that the image is for your personal desktop wallpaper needs only without my permission otherwise. Its tricky keeping track of images these days so I can only hope everyone does their part to help me out with this so I can continue to do this for years to come. Hmmm, I wonder why I don’t put together a book? Why did I not realize that until just now. Anyone who bothered to read this far, any thoughts on that?

Time for some new desktops I would say right? This afternoon I found these waiting to be shot in the light of the setting sun coming through a window so that rich yellow color was simply the light of the sun. While I realized later in post that I shot them at too high of an ISO so the dark shadows were covered in ugly digital noise I darkened them up a little bit to hide it so you guys wouldn’t have to look at digital noise on your desktops. Well, anyways, I still thought they were nice enough to share with everyone so here you go. Some fresh apples for your desktop. This was taken after spotting it off the side of the road, I pulled off at the nearest safe spot as the roads were coated in ice and snow at this point in time but I am pretty happy I did. There was something nice about this old sign that has been there long enough to completely loose all of its vital information other than the fact that the land is available. Maybe I could buy it and set up a little house in the middle and let it be over taken by all the kudzu vines. You can see the texture of falling snow if you look close. Oh, and yep its a desktop, see below for a link.

I know these are a bit dark but thats just because the sun had already set and I really had to run around the lake to get to these spots before it was totally dark outside. This and it was snowing heavily at that point and the wind was freezing me. All in all it was an impromptu shoot as I was driving back home form a job site in crazy snowy/icy road rush hour traffic heh. In other words I didn’t have much time to think about the shots, I just sort of took them and hoped for the best. The poor 5D was totally covered in snow and water when I hopped back into the car but it has survived worse. So they did not come out totally horrible, just a bit soft because I was shooting at a wide aperture to compensate for the fact that I had no tripod in that dark weather but I decided to share them anyhow for those of you in the mood for a moody photo of a snowy lake.
