Hold On Tight

I will jump right in and say that these shots were shot in almost a satirical way as I was shooting them because upon seeing these rows of colorful handles down the subway train cars I was immediately reminded of the countless bokeh filled photos I have seen of this subject before. I started noticing a growing trend of photographers on flickr taking advantage of this easy obvious target for a nice fancy looking DOF shot and it got to the point where I saw so many people shooting the same thing that I would tease them when I saw a new one pop up. After a quick search on flickr I discovered that there is even a group dedicated to these sorts of shots! So these are my contribution to the Bokeh Subway Handle Society Of Photographers and thought they would make for nice desktops because of their simple but semi abstract sort of a feel. There was one image that I really loved where there was a single hand on one of the handles which was pushed out slightly from the rest of them but I missed the focus slightly and I’m not happy enough with it to post it, heh, not really too sure why I am telling you even.

Anyways, to download these three images as wallpapers simply CLICK OR RIGHT CLICK HERE to download the zip file containing the high res desktop versions, iPad versions, and iPhone versions. Also included are my simple terms of use which let you know about commercial use of the images. I have included direct access for iPad and iPhone users below.

It’s something you see a lot of on flickr and I actually have a very similar shot as a favourite I added ages ago. The last one is the best as I think it’s a different slant.

I sent this to my brother who blogs about commuting to work. Thought of him when I saw the photos.

    PS. Love the site!

These rules also apply for any artwork or imagery submitted and shown within this site which was created by an artist aside from myself. Any images submitted and shared as wallpapers are the property of the artist who created them and in the same manner as my images, you are asked to receive permission before using them in any way aside from their intended use. Do not re-post full resolution desktop images anywhere without permission. If you would like to use an image for your blog background or something of the sort simply write to ask first. Support the artwork you admire! Also, it is greatly appreciated if you do NOT link directly to the zip files. This is more or less the same as re-posting them as it circumvents the tiny bit of support I ask of you which is to simply link back to the original post for others to enjoy the site.

It’s not fair to artists if you do not credit their work and link back to the original content creator. It is theft plain and simple and blogs that attempt to somehow be mysterious by not giving credit to the creators are simply hurting the artistic community as a whole. If you love it so much then please, support it! The artistic community on the Internet is based on trust. Without trust then what do we have? are you going to be one of the responsible users out there or will you be among the bottom feeders, stealing content and passing it off as your own to make a quick buck in ad sales.

Use your best judgement and we will get along just fine.

Thank you for your understanding and support!
